Organisation Profile

The Indus Entrepreneurs (“TiE”) is a global, not-for-profit organization created for the advancement of entrepreneurship. The founders of TiE, themselves successful entrepreneurs, senior professionals and corporate executives with roots in the Indus Valley, came together in Silicon Valley in 1992 to create a forum for informal exchange of ideas.

Before DYNASITE

TiE in Dubai had a website, tiedubai.org which was a static site. A person could log on to the site and get information on the local chapter of TiE as well as the other TiE chapters around the world. The site also contained a list of recent events.

Registrations would be via email, where the person interested in being a member would email his details to TiE Dubai and those details would then be entered into an XL spreadsheet for use in the future.

The Problem

Prior to the Official launch of TiE in Dubai, the need arose for an online registration system, which would automate the process of registrations.

The workflow currently included: 

• Sending out the email inviting for membership
• Collection of all the replies
• Creation of an XL sheet to store all the member details
• Data entry of all the member details into the XL sheet.

The Solution

This was the first installation of DYNASITE in the UAE.

The solution included: 

• An online registration system, wherein the persons interested in membership would log onto the website, fill up a membership form.
• The member details would then automatically be entered into the database residing on the server.
• The data could then be viewed, edited or deleted by the administrator of the website.
• The entire website was then re-designed.

All Charter members along with their Photograph and Description was included on the site.
