“Our great bundles and price points compared to Gitex 2008 including our very own Jacky’s Extended Warranty programme made our participation successful again this year. We have seen an increase in sales with HP, Dell, Acer, Toshiba and Sony Vaio as the most-in-demand brands for notebooks comprising for over 80% of the total laptop sales. Even brands that have been reintroduced into the UAE market such as Lenovo, LG, Samsung and Packard Bell performed better and have posted an impressive triple-digit growth as compared to previous years,” said Jimmy Patel, General Manager, Jacky’s Electronics. |

“LCD and Plasma TVs faired well with a 20% increase in total sales from 2008. The DSLR camera segment also proved to be very popular with demand for cameras and lenses showed an increase of over 50% compared to last year.
“Our exciting promotion of ‘Hi-5 hour’, wherein five LG X120 Mini netbooks and five LG GB110 mobile phones were given away every hour during the entire event, was one of the factors that made Gitex Shopper 2009 another achievement for Jacky’s. We are very optimistic that our sales will translate even after Gitex until the end of the year. We will continue to keep our customers updated on the latest products and gadgets in the market,” Patel added.
Regular updates were also made throughout the event on Twitter and Facebook where price drops, price enquiries and new product announcements were done. Jacky’s Electronics was this year’s number one retailer again at Gitex Shopper, where it was a strategic partner this year. The company has also confirmed to participate at Gitex Shopper and Consumer Electronics 2010. |
