Manoj Ganpathy, Division Manager of VMS and Robotics at Jacky’s Business Solutions, represented the company at a panel discussion titled “Reinventing retail in the ‘blended consumption’ era” during the recently concluded Middle East Retail Forum (MRF).
Going beyond retail touchpoints, the discussion was all about how the shopping experience needs to be rendered ‘smart’, ‘experiential’ and ‘differentiated’. While data, artificial intelligence, machine learning and blockchain promise to positively disrupt the retail landscape, this session was designed to encourage a dialogue on how established and emerging technology pieces can be blended with the human touch to create future-proof ‘smart’ businesses.
A variety of questions were discussed by the panelists in the forum. Manoj joined a panel of some of the leading retailers around the UAE to discuss and debate this topic. In particular, he spoke about the role of humanoid robots in customer service environments and the overall retail experience in-store.
MRF 2019 was hosted in over a two-day period and it was dedicated to the Retail industry. Both the days were very productive with a keynote address by Marwan Jassim Al Sarkal, Executive Chairman, Shurooq, followed by an interesting mix of presentations and panel discussions. There were networking opportunities and exhibition areas to display the products and solutions relevant to retail industries.
