Caldera has released PrimeCenter 5.1, bringing improved file checks and faster recipe processing to its prepress workflow solution.
The update builds on Caldera PrimeCenter to help print-production teams identify file problems earlier, manage high-volume workflows more efficiently and reduce avoidable delays before jobs reach production.
Find file problems before production
PrimeCenter 5.1 improves the File Editor workflow by checking files as they are imported. This allows operators to identify problems before a file moves further into production, when corrections can become more disruptive and costly.
The automatic checks can identify issues involving transparency, PDF compliance, missing fonts, missing ICC profiles, image resolution and colour space.
Files containing potential problems are clearly highlighted for review. Operators can see all detected issues and their validation status in one central location, rather than checking files individually or moving between different tools.
PrimeCenter also sorts imported files intelligently, bringing flagged files to the operator’s attention first. This allows production teams to focus on jobs that require action while correctly prepared files continue through the workflow.
For busy print environments, this provides a more structured quality-control process. Problems can be identified and addressed before they affect output quality, production time or material use.
Faster recipe processing
PrimeCenter uses recipes to automate the steps required to prepare files for printing and cutting. In high-volume production environments, even short delays between recipes can affect overall throughput.
