Jacky’s and Grabba Strengthen Partnership at Gitex to Revolutionise Mobile Device Integration

In the evolving tech landscape, innovative integration is crucial to meet the growing needs of various sectors. One such collaboration is between Jacky’s Business Solutions and Grabba, which has seen significant success since its partnership 18 months ago. Jacky’s has become the exclusive integrator of Android devices for Grabba’s projects in the region.

Why This Partnership Works

The partnership between the two companies isn’t just about hardware. It’s about providing a complete solution that spans hardware and software integration. Basil Macklai, Managing Director for EMEA at Grabba, attributes the strength of this relationship to several key factors. One of the most significant is their ability to develop and deliver solutions on tight timelines, specifically creating devices that house Samsung products supplied by Jacky’s.

A standout feature of the collaboration is the financial model offered to clients. The partnership enables an OPEX model (operational expenditure) rather than a traditional CAPEX model (capital expenditure), essentially offering a lease-to-own solution. This approach helps businesses avoid large upfront cash outlays, which has been a game-changer, particularly in sectors like banking and telecoms.

Future Potential

Currently, the partnership has made strides in the banking sector with notable clients like Mashreq and Sharjah Islamic Bank. Moreover, there are ongoing discussions to expand their reach into the telecom industry. However, Grabba and Jacky’s see potential in other verticals as well, including policing, security, and hospitality, which could benefit from their cutting-edge biometric validation solutions.

Leveraging Biometric Solutions for KYC and More

One of the standout technologies in this collaboration is Grabba’s software capability, which communicates with the UAE government’s ICP Gateway (Validation Gateway). This allows businesses to send biometrics for verification with government servers, enhancing security in KYC (Know Your Customer) processes.

“We are one of the few companies in the UAE with the ability to integrate biometric data with the government’s ICP Gateway,” says Macklai. “This capability is critical in sectors like banking and telecoms, where secure and fast validation is necessary for customer onboarding and regulatory compliance.”

Ensuring Business Continuity with Real-Time Support

To ensure seamless operations for its clients, the partnership also emphasises robust support through a three-tier system. From Level 1 to Level 3, Jacky’s and Grabba provide technicians on the ground who can quickly swap out faulty devices, ensuring minimal downtime. If a more complex issue arises, devices are either repaired in Dubai or sent back to Australia for further investigation, backed by a strong SLA to minimise delays.

This unique service model, including “hot swapping” of devices, has been a crucial element in maintaining business continuity for sectors like banking, where any downtime could have severe consequences.

A Strong Future Ahead

With a presence in Dubai since 2019, Grabba has established itself as a key player in the UAE’s tech ecosystem. The partnership with Jacky’s continues to evolve, providing tailored, high-tech solutions to industries that demand seamless integration of hardware and software. As they expand into new sectors, the future looks promising for this dynamic partnership.

This collaboration exemplifies how innovative partnerships can redefine industry standards, offering not only technical expertise but also unique commercial models that address the needs of modern businesses.
