2022 has been phenomenal for businesses in this region especially the UAE, building on the boom that we saw in the past two years, Expo 2020 that finished in the beginning of 2022. The recent World Cup effect has also helped the recovering hospitality sector across the neighbouring GCC thrive.
For us at Jacky’s, across the group, it has been a story of growth despite supply chain disruptions.
We had several important vendor announcements for Jacky’s Business Solutions some of which we showcased at Gitex this year. We announced partnerships with new vendors like Formcase, Grabba ID, RPA, the launch of new solutions as a result of collaborations with software partners like Humanizing Technologies, Artiligent and PurpleGrids for robots from Softbank (now Aldebaran) and Temi.
Jacky’s Retail LLC launched its renovated of Deira City Centre Samsung outlet where it was upgraded to promote Samsung SmartThings ecosystem of products. It also successfully launched the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Eatiq Organic Foods (the OEM organic food brand from Jacky’s) is now available via multiple retail and online channels such as Al Adil, West Zone, Abu Dhabi Co-Op, Grandiose, Talabat Mart, Careem, Amazon, Noon, Kibsons, Instashop and various others. It grew in terms of breadth and depth during the past year with over 150 SKU’s to date and growing.
In 2023, I think we'll see maybe a stabilisation for businesses despite global recession being predicted. The spike we saw in the last two years will come down and remain steady. We will probably see reasonable growth but not the likes of what we have seen over the past two years. One silver lining for 2023, as one of the few countries and regions that are friendly with China, we hope to start seeing an influx of Chinese tourists that will return to travel from the New Year, after a few years of lock down and restrictions.
Specifically for Jacky’s, we will see more of a move into software to support our robots and various software technologies like RPA and Digital Avatar technologies. We expect to continue to work with partners like PurpleGrids and Artiligent to develop wider applications for our range of robots as businesses continue to embrace and adopt robotics.
For Jacky’s Electronics LLC, we will continue to focus on enhancing our customer service and experience offerings from an expanded online presence. We will also be exploring other physical retail locations to expand into in 2023. We plan to open a new retail outlet in Dubai Hills.
Eatiq Organic Foods will be expanding its footprints across larger hypermarkets and chains and into other countries across the region as people get more conscious of what they consume.
